A WORD FROM ATTENDEE – “Sails Up is made to enjoy your life at maximum!”

attendee

The honor of the first interview goes to Aljosa Krt, Sails Up attendee. We caught up with him on the last day of our trip!

SAILS UP: Could you please describe yourself, what kind of person are you? What is your background?

ALJOSA: It is a bit tricky describing myself, but I’d say I’m a positive, hyperactive, open minded person, always trying to get the best out of a given situation. You can always recognise me by a smile on my face (and my father’s old war Ray Bans on my nose). I’m always in a mood for party and love hanging out with positive, relaxed and party people. Otherwise I’m a student – I study medicine. I also love sports very much, I could not imagine a life without my street workouts, cross-fit and running – I need to release my surplus of energy somewhere. Music is also a big part of my life – I play guitar and sing and am a songwriter.

SAILS UP: What has been your favourite moment on Sails Up?

ALJOSA: It is hard to expose only one moment, as all of them formed a great and unique experience that have made that week one of the best weeks of my life. I could easily list many of great moments: ariving at Hvar and a great party in Carpe Diem there, watching the sunset and just chilling at Laganini Lounge Bar on Pakleni Islands, driving a Vespa scooter across Komiza/Vis island … As I alredy said, it was all of the moments that made the Sails Up experience special and unforgettable.

Aljosa KrtSAILS UP: What are your favourite spots on Sails Up and why?

ALJOSA: For sure Laganini Lounge Bar on Pakleni Islands. It offers a great view of bay in front and a sunset. One of the nicest places was also the Blue cave, where we could just dive into the perfectly blue water and enjoy. But as far as my mascular side is concerned, the best spot was for sure the cliff, where we cliffdived from hell of a lot of metres! It was a real adrenalin experience.

SAILS UP: What do you like the most about Sails Up?

ALJOSA: What I like the most is the whole concept of the idea. As I got it, the idea was to offer a unique experience, unforgettable memories, fun, party, etc. I have to admit it – they have succeeded. Sails Up offered me everything that I wanted and more: partying, chilling, adrenaline… Also it enabled me to meet other people, to make new bonds and friends with whom I shared this experience and memories.

SAILS UP: What do you like the most about sailing?

ALJOSA: At first I was quite sceptic about sailing and didn’t know if it is really fun. As the matter of fact it was my first time to go on a sail boat. From the moment we left Marina Kastela all of my nervousness disappeared. I guess I was made for the sea life (haha). It was also our skipper that made us feel comfortable and relaxed on our boat. The best part was when the wind was blowing strong and we were sailing at almost 40 degree angle with 9 knots!

attendeeSAILS UP: Is it hard to spend seven days on a boat with people you don’t know?

ALJOSA: It wasn’t hard for me. I mean yes, at first I had second thoughts about going as I didn’t know anyone from our boat, but then when we all met each other and started talking, we soon realised we were going to have a good time. We were all positive people, I guess I could say synced at the same frequency. We had a great time together and I am sure we are going to stay great friends.

SAILS UP: How the ordinary day on Sails Up looks like?

ALJOSA: Firstly we got up – not all of us at the same time, of course, then one of us (usually Niki) made breakfast for everyone. Sometimes we were already sailing by the time I got up, and I got up quite early every day, that means that our skipper was the first to be awake. Then we sailed and enjoyed the wind in our hair. When the wind wasn’t blowing hard and the sea was steady we put on music and had a little party on the deck. Every day we stopped on different places and saw different, remarkable things and sights. In the afternoon we went cliffdiving or exploring caves, visited old cities of Hvar and Vis islands, etc. In the evenings we went out for a party, or if we had nowhere to go, we made parties ourselves: we gathered on one boat, put on some music and had a party all night long, some of us until sunrise.

attendeeSAILS UP: Why should people come to Sails Up?

ALJOSA: Most certainly because of an unique experience that Sails Up offers. As I already said it was really one of the best weeks of my life and I would like other people to experience it too! Sails Up is made to have fun, to enjoy your life at maximum. Everyone should experience this kind of trip that we have on our week sailing. Sails Up is a great thing for everyone who appreciates great company, nice sights and of course a top quality party.

SAILS UP: Will you go to Sails Up next year as well and why?

ALJOSA: Without any doubt, yes! Because it really was a top experience that I want to repeat, especially with the people I met. The most valuable thing a man can have is memories. And Sails Up has given me those memories that cannot be forgotten.
